Telos Alliance has announced the release of Telos Zephyr Connect, a software-based multi-codec gateway designed for transporting multiple channels of stereo, mono, and dual-mono audio over IP networks.
Zephyr Connect, based on the Telos iPort series hardware products, is delivered as a software container. It can be deployed on-premises on a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server or hosted in the cloud.
Versatile Applications
Zephyr Connect supports the transmission of multiple linear or MPEG channels over various network types, including VPNs, satellite links, Ethernet radio systems, and services provided by Telco and ISP, such as SD-WAN, MPLS, or legacy data links. It can serve as a network distribution system, a multi-channel link to remote studios, or a studio-to-transmitter link. When paired with a suitable server, Zephyr Connect can transmit audio, ancillary data, and GPIO with a QoS-enabled IP link between studios on a Livewire network using Telos Alliance xNodes.
Scalable Solution
Zephyr Connect provides the same functionality and features as the Telos iPort High Density hardware platform, with additional flexibility and scalability. Each instance includes two bi-directional codec channels, with the option to expand to up to sixty-four channels, adding one channel at a time.
Availability
Zephyr Connect is available for order through Telos Alliance’s global network of channel partners, with shipping scheduled to begin in September.
