Creamsource Expands Vortex Line with Innovative Lighting Solutions

Creamsource, an Australian lighting manufacturer, has broadened its Vortex product lineup with the launch of two innovative soft panels: the Vortex8 Soft (V8S) and the Vortex4 Soft (V4S).

The V8S model, which delivers a powerful 650W output, and the V4S model, with a 325W output, both utilize an advanced RRGBBW color engine. This technology blends two shades of red and blue LEDs with green and warm white, aiming to enhance color fidelity and efficiency. Designed for both outdoor night scenes and tight indoor spaces, these panels offer a soft, wide-reaching illumination, supported by their impressive Technical Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) and Color Rendering Index (CRI) performance.

These models are designed for mobility, equipped with a 48V DC power input for battery operation, and are built to be IP65 rated for dust and water resistance.

Technical Specifications:
  • Vortex8 Soft (V8S): Outputs 58,200 lumens and delivers 2,340 lux at 3 meters distance with a color temperature of 5600K when in open face mode.
  • Vortex4 Soft (V4S): Outputs 29,100 lumens and delivers 1,180 lux at 3 meters distance with a color temperature of 5600K when in open face mode.
  • Beam Angle: Both lights offer a 110° half peak angle for broad light distribution.
The Vortex24 RGBW System: A High-Intensity Solution

In addition to the soft panels, Creamsource introduced the Vortex24 RGBW system, a robust lighting solution boasting 1950W of power. This system also incorporates the RRGBBW color engine but distinguishes itself with a narrower 20° beam angle, providing intense illumination over greater distances. The Vortex24 is designed for intricate lighting effects, featuring 24 directional pixel zones for dynamic lighting scenarios such as simulating fire or motion. It also includes dual ethernet ports to facilitate daisy-chaining of lights for a cleaner set environment.

Further Details on the Vortex24:
  • Photometrics: The unit shines brightly with 90,000 lumens and achieves 27,560 lux at 3 meters distance with a color temperature of 5600K in its naked state.
  • Physical Specifications: It weighs 53.5kg (117.9lb) and measures 1333 x 971 x 258mm (52.5” x 38.2” x 10.2”), yoke included.
Seamless Integration with Cream OS

All three new additions to the Vortex line are compatible with Creamsource’s Cream OS, ensuring easy integration into existing setups. Creamsource’s CEO, Tama Berkeljon, emphasized the user-friendly nature of the Vortex ecosystem, highlighting its aim to simplify the creative process for filmmakers by reducing technical distractions.

With these new products, Creamsource aims to offer versatile, high-quality lighting solutions that cater to the diverse needs of filmmakers, from enhancing color accuracy to facilitating complex lighting effects with ease.
