FUJIFILM Firmware Enhancements for X-H2, X-S20, X-T5, and X100VI Models

FUJIFILM has released new firmware updates for four of its recent camera models: X-H2, X-S20, X-T5, and X100VI.

The updates enhance XApp support with features like RAW file transfer, improve autofocus with new algorithms, and introduce additional functionalities like Adobe Cloud support for the X-S20 and X-T5. These updates reflect FUJIFILM’s commitment to the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement.

X-H2 Firmware Version 4.0

The X-H2 receives substantial upgrades with the new firmware, including:

  • Enhanced autofocus capabilities, particularly in tracking mode.
  • Addition of “WIDE/TRACKING” focus mode for video shooting.
  • A red frame REC indicator for video recording.
  • A self-timer for video start.
  • Updates to XApp compatibility, supporting features from XApp V.2.0.0 and V2.1.0 such as future firmware updates via the app and monitoring of lifetime shots.
  • General bug fixes, WiFi stability enhancements, better thermal management control, and more.

X-S20 Firmware Version 2.01

The firmware update for the X-S20 aligns its features closely with those of the X-H2, adjusted for the X-S20’s hardware capabilities and lower resolution sensor.

X-T5 Firmware Version 3.01

Similar to the X-S20, the X-T5 update includes improvements to autofocus and the addition of Adobe Camera-to-Cloud sync capability, without restricting the camera’s potential by its primary stills-oriented design.

X100VI Firmware Version 1.01

The X100VI, being a newer model, receives a minor update that includes:

  • Support for XApp RAW file transfers.
  • A fix for a specific autofocus tracking issue.
  • Routine bug fixes. This update builds on the features already present from the camera’s initial release.
