JVC Professional Video, under JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, announced the release of their new KM-IP12S8 Series CONNECTED CAM™ vMix Studio Switchers at NAB 2024

The product lineup includes two models: the KM-IP12S8 and the KM-IP12S8PRO. These devices are designed to handle live video production tasks such as mixing, switching, recording, and streaming. The switchers are equipped with either the vMix 4K or vMix Pro Live Production and Streaming software, supporting resolutions from SD to 4K 60P, which makes them suitable for various viewing devices and high-paced environments like live sports.

Technical Specifications and Connectivity

The KM-IP12S8 model is provided with a vMix 4K license and can accommodate up to 12 NDI®/SRT and eight SDI video inputs. It offers numerous output options including 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, and DisplayPort. The system also features three 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports to support NDI, SRT, Dante, and RTMPS connections. It enables simultaneous outputs to three CDNs, and includes Multiview and ISO recording capabilities, all housed in a 4RU case with liquid cooling for quiet operation. The KM-IP12S8PRO offers similar hardware but includes a vMix Pro software license, adding eight-channel instant replay functionality.

Control and Storage Options

Both models of the KM-IP12S8 series include a front dock with four SSDs and USB 3.0 Gen.2 ports. The switchers are compatible with JVC’s RM-LP350G vMix Control Surface, which features a PTZ camera joystick, and the RM-LP450G vMix Slow-Motion Control Surface, recently introduced for use with vMix Replay.

Integration and Support

JVC provides comprehensive integration and operational support, aiming to simplify system implementation for users, integrators, and resellers. The switchers are designed to work seamlessly with JVC’s range of NDI-enabled PTZ cameras and handheld camcorders, known for their high image quality.

Pricing and Availability

The KM-IP12S8 is priced at $10,999, and the KM-IP12S8PRO at $11,600. Both models are set to be available for purchase in Summer 2024. These products are part of JVC’s extensive portfolio, which includes over 20 years of experience in streaming technology and partnerships with leading technology providers like NDI® and SRT.
