Deutsche Telekom has updated its MagentaTV IPTV platform utilizing the Cloud DVR solution provided by Broadpeak.
This enhancement allows MagentaTV to offer various video streaming services, such as video on demand (VOD), live, time-shift, and start-over TV. This update aims to minimize the reliance on physical hardware and reduce costs associated with maintenance and operations.
Cloud DVR Technology
The Cloud DVR solution from Broadpeak is designed to be a scalable system, capable of expanding storage from tens to hundreds of petabytes. The system supports recording in both shared and private copy formats, where each subscriber has individual content stored in the cloud. This technology not only optimizes bandwidth and storage needs but also enhances the user experience for MagentaTV subscribers.
Deployment and Managed Services
Broadpeak took on the role of systems integrator for this project, setting up the data center network, security measures, and the necessary servers and software. MagentaTV has engaged Broadpeak’s managed services to streamline operations, reduce operational time, and ensure efficient service managed by Broadpeak’s experts.
