MultiDyne: New SilverBULLET Series Revealed

MultiDyne Fiber Optic Solutions has announced the launch of the second generation of its SilverBULLET series, a cutting-edge fiber-optic link and signal conversion technology.

This new release, which boasts a range of enhanced features, will be showcased at the NAB Show 2024 starting this Sunday at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

Enhancements and Features

The latest iteration of the SilverBULLET series supports a broad spectrum of signals ranging from 5Mbps to 12Gbps, making it versatile for various applications. Designed to meet the demands of continuous broadcast environments and specialized uses that require compact and sturdy equipment, the devices maintain a small form factor and are encased in machined aluminium for increased durability. They are noted for their portability and cost-effectiveness, serving not only routine but also urgent SDI video and various audio feed needs.

Technical Capabilities

The SilverBULLET transmitters and receivers are equipped to handle high-bandwidth, single-link transports to any video source, with 12G capability. They feature advanced built-in cable equalisation and re-clocking to ensure signal integrity for both short and long-distance transports, effectively minimizing jitter from incoming signals. Additionally, these units are designed to equalise up to 75 meters of coax at 12G and up to 200 meters at 3G.

Operational Flexibility

The updated devices include an integrated optical power meter on the receiver units and support a wide range of power inputs from 5 to 16VDC, allowing them to be powered through various means, including USB power sources. They are compatible with USB-A, USB-C, and miniXLR 4pin power adapter cables, along with full-size and HDBNC patch cables. Furthermore, the new SilverBULLETs are capable of operating under extreme temperature and humidity conditions.
