The Telos Alliance, a globally recognized leader in broadcast audio, has unveiled three new television audio processors: the Linear Acoustic AERO.20, AERO.200, and AERO.2400.
These devices are the successors to the AERO.10, AERO.100, and AERO.2000 models, which will be phased out.
Enhanced Features and Capabilities
The new series maintains the core functionalities of its predecessors, such as loudness control, upmixing, and the inclusion of Nielsen and Verance Aspect audience measurement watermarking, as well as Dolby coding and flexible local audio insertion capabilities for Emergency Alert Systems and text-to-speech applications. Notably, the AERO.20, AERO.200, and AERO.2400 introduce dual independent 3G SDI I/O paths that support 1080p video signals, selectable metering and logging options compatible with EBU R 128 or ATSC A/85 standards, and an upgraded operating system, Windows 10 IoT, for enhanced security.
Market Position and Legacy
Larry Schindel, the Product Manager at Linear Acoustic, stated that these processors are designed to continue the company’s tradition of providing high-quality, reliable, and versatile audio solutions for television broadcasting. The new features aim to offer more advanced I/O and routing options, along with increased security measures.
Availability
The AERO.20, AERO.200, and AERO.2400 models will be showcased at the upcoming NAB event and are expected to be available for purchase through Linear Acoustic channel partners in the second quarter of 2024.
