Samyang has announced the release of its latest addition to the V-AF series, the V-AF 20mm T1.9 prime lens, designed for Sony E-Mount cameras.
This completes the set of six lenses, offering versatility and compatibility for various shooting needs.
Features of the Samyang V-AF 20mm T1.9
The V-AF 20mm T1.9 shares key characteristics with its predecessors in the V-AF lineup, including a compact design, weighing 280g (0.6lbs) and measuring 7.2cm (2.83in) in length. With a front filter diameter of 58mm and nine aperture blades, it ensures consistent performance across the series.
All lenses in the V-AF series feature autofocus functionality, with a focus ring that rotates 300° and standard 0.8mod focus gears for precise manual adjustments. They cover full-frame sensors with a 43.3mm image circle and boast weather-sealing for durability in various conditions.
Additionally, each lens includes a tally lamp at the front and an electronic connector for attaching optional accessories. Other features include a focus hold button and a custom mode switch for enhanced usability.
Introduction of the Samyang V-AF 1.7x Anamorphic MF Adapter
In conjunction with the V-AF lenses, Samyang has introduced the V-AF 1.7x Anamorphic MF Adapter, expanding creative possibilities for filmmakers. Compatible with select lenses in the series, it offers a 1.7x squeeze ratio, adding oval bokeh and amber flare effects for a distinct visual style.
The adapter features a focus ring with 0.8mod pitch gears for seamless integration with follow-focus systems. It also includes a built-in tally lamp and offers a Soft Focus Mode for achieving softer focus effects.
Price and Availability
Both the Samyang V-AF 20mm T1.9 and the 1.7x Anamorphic MF Adapter are set to ship this month. The V-AF 20mm T1.9 is priced at €629, while the anamorphic MF adapter retails for €1,009.
