Sony has unveiled a new security enhancement for its Ci Media Cloud platform, aimed at safeguarding high-value digital content.
The Advanced Watermark Security package, which is now available for enterprise subscribers as an additional paid service, integrates sophisticated watermarking technologies directly into the Ci platform. This development is designed to strengthen intellectual property (IP) protection and simplify content management processes by removing the need for manual handling of media files.
Advanced Watermarking Capabilities
The latest security package introduces two primary features: Watermarked Workspaces and Forensic Watermarking.
Watermarked Workspaces
This feature enables content owners to automatically apply visual watermarks to all media files uploaded to their Ci Workspaces. By setting up Watermarked Workspaces, enterprise clients can standardize the application of visual watermarks across their content, eliminating the manual effort typically required to watermark each piece of content individually. This not only saves time but also ensures consistent protection across all media files.
Forensic Watermarking through NAGRA Integration
In a strategic move to bolster content security, Ci has partnered with NAGRA to incorporate NexGuard’s forensic watermarking technology into the platform. This integration, which is embedded directly within Ci’s MediaBox sharing tool, allows content owners to assign a unique watermark ID to every shared video file. This level of traceability ensures that owners can identify the source of any unauthorized distribution.
Additional Watermarking Features
Besides the advanced security features, the Ci platform also supports burn-in watermarks. This function is available to both MediaBox users and guests, allowing for the download of shared images and videos with permanent watermarks embedded.
Sony’s introduction of the Advanced Watermark Security package to the Ci Media Cloud represents a significant step forward in the fight against content piracy, offering studios and content owners a robust set of tools to protect their intellectual property while streamlining their operational workflows.
