Tilta has launched a bespoke camera cage and accessory collection tailored for RED’s newest camera, the KOMODO-X.
The Advanced Kit is touted as the definitive rigging and power solution for KOMODO-X enthusiasts, encompassing a comprehensive camera cage, lens support, swiveling top handle, side handle, 15mm rod holder, battery plate, I/O module, and a 15mm LWS baseplate with rods.
Building on the legacy of the original KOMODO, the new RED KOMODO-X boasts numerous enhancements in a slightly revamped design. Given the subtle design changes, many existing accessories are incompatible with the new model. Tilta’s Camera Cage for RED KOMODO-X
The newly designed Tilta camera cage for the RED KOMODO-X is modular, comprising five distinct parts: a front top plate, left and right side arms, a bottom plate, and a rear top plate. Made of aluminum, the cage is available in classic black or a special edition white. It’s equipped with a lens adapter support and numerous mounting threads. Each side arm incorporates an ARRI Rosette and a NATO rail, while the front top plate features an in-built cold shoe receiver.
Tilta has also crafted a swiveling top handle that can be adjusted to avoid obstructing the camera’s unique top LCD screen.
Kit Variants: Lightweight, Basic, and Advanced
Tilta offers three pre-packaged kits: Lightweight, Basic, and Advanced. The Lightweight kit is ideal for filmmakers who frequently switch between handheld and gimbal setups. The Basic kit is a step up, featuring the new foldable top handle and other enhancements. The Advanced kit is the most comprehensive, designed for KOMODO-X users seeking both mechanical and power solutions.
Power and Connectivity Solutions
The Advanced kit’s battery plate is adjustable and can accommodate larger batteries than the camera’s native V-lock mount. It also offers multiple power outputs. The Advanced I/O Module enhances the camera’s connectivity, offering various ports and can be attached directly to the cage or the battery plate.
