HyperRoll expands compact camera movement options

Cartoni has teamed up with director Stefano Pedretti to introduce HyperRoll, a compact wheeled camera rig aimed at filmmakers and content creators.

The new system is designed to deliver smooth cinematic movement in a smaller and more flexible format.

According to Cartoni, HyperRoll is built for fast setup and a wide range of production needs. It is intended to support mirrorless cameras, full professional rigs, and smartphone filmmaking within the same platform.

Cartoni and Stefano Pedretti on the HyperRoll concept

The companies say HyperRoll combines multiple shooting approaches in one modular tool. As a result, users can change configurations quickly and adapt the rig to different production situations.

At the center of the system is a handle structure available in single, dual, and triple versions. In addition, the rig includes a telescopic extension. This design connects to either a universal cage or a camera-specific cage for faster setup and reconfiguration on set.

HyperRoll shooting modes

Cartoni says HyperRoll brings 10 shooting modes into one unit. These include Low Roll for ground-level tracking and Roll Over for moving smoothly above objects.

The system also includes Action Roll, Tabletop Roll, Dutch Roll, POV Roll, and Pets Roll. In addition, users can work with Freestyle Roll, Total Grip Roll, and Vertical Roll. According to the company, this range is intended to give filmmakers more movement options without adding separate tools.

HyperRoll wheel system and movement control

Cartoni says HyperRoll uses an orientable wheel system with polyurethane wheels rated at 90 Shore A hardness. The company adds that the wheels use radiused profiles and double-shielded ABEC-7 ball bearings.

According to Cartoni, this setup is designed to deliver silent and low-vibration movement on flat surfaces. At the same time, the multi-handle control system is intended to support smoother direction changes, more accurate steering, and more stable tracking.

HyperRoll setup and calibration

The rig also includes a 120mm NATO rail system, engraved angular scales, and integrated bubble levels. Cartoni says these features are designed to support faster positioning, more accurate calibration, and repeatable setup across different shooting configurations.

HyperRoll construction

Cartoni says HyperRoll is made from aviation-grade alloys and finished with black anodizing and ceramic shot treatment. The company positions the rig as a lightweight but durable support system built for regular production use.

According to Cartoni, the goal is to combine low weight, structural rigidity, and long-term durability in one compact mechanical design.
