Vimond and Yield Media form revenue partnership

Vimond and Yield Media have entered a strategic partnership aimed at increasing revenue for media companies.

The two firms are combining Vimond’s streaming platform with Yield Media’s digital advertising and AdTech expertise. Together, they say they want to help clients grow digital video revenue more effectively.

The partnership is aimed at media houses and content owners of different sizes. It targets both companies that already publish large amounts of video and those planning to invest more heavily in video distribution.

Vimond and Yield Media on the shift to online video

The two companies say audience behavior continues to move away from linear TV and toward online video. At the same time, media companies are publishing more video content than before.

However, Vimond and Yield Media argue that many publishers still do not capture the full commercial value of that shift. Therefore, the new partnership is focused on helping them improve monetization.

Roy Tore Lysen Jensen, Global Growth Manager at Vimond, said online video presents a strong revenue opportunity for media owners. He also said advertiser demand is rising, with many planning to increase spending on online video over the next year. In his view, that gives publishers a clear opening for digital growth.

Vimond platform for publishing and monetization

Vimond says its streaming platform is built to help newspapers, publishers, and digital media companies upload, organize, and stream video across platforms more easily.

The company also says the platform supports both subscription payments and advertising revenue. As a result, publishers can manage paid and ad-supported video models in one environment.

Lysen Jensen said some Vimond customers have already increased advertising revenue by using the platform’s commercial tools more effectively. He also said some publishers have seen digital viewership grow by more than 50 percent while reaching younger audiences.

Yield Media on ad setup and revenue growth

Through the partnership, Vimond will work with Yield Media and its founder, Marius B. Karlsen. The companies say the goal is to help media owners earn more from video advertising by improving setup, technology, and yield strategy.

Karlsen said many media organizations are sitting on significant unused revenue potential. He said better ad configuration and technology choices can sharply improve net return from video inventory.

According to Karlsen, some media companies have more than tripled net revenue compared with a standard setup. He said this comes from a smarter mix of pre-rolls, dynamic mid-rolls, and other ways to expand and sell video inventory more efficiently.

Vimond and Yield Media on reducing revenue leakage

Karlsen said the partnership is focused on reducing what he described as revenue leakage. In other words, the aim is to make each video play generate more value for the content owner.

Vimond and Yield Media say the partnership is built around a simple commercial goal: helping publishers turn rising video consumption into stronger and more predictable digital income.
