PROMODespí Education Centre has opened new radio and podcast studios equipped with professional AEQ technology.
The project supports the centre’s focus on training, innovation, and employability. It also gives local residents access to a practical radio and audiovisual production environment built around current industry needs.
Based in Sant Joan Despí, in the Baix Llobregat area near Barcelona, the municipal education centre is expanding its training offer in communication and digital content. As a result, students can now work in a more professional studio setting.
PROMODespí and AEQ studio infrastructure
At the centre of the new installation is the AEQ Capitol PLUS digital console. PROMODespí has also added the AEQ AudioPLUS automation system and the AEQ VisualRPlus visual radio platform. Together, these systems form a complete turnkey solution for radio and podcast training.
The new setup also includes technical furniture, cabling, monitors, microphones, headphones, and ON AIR signage. In addition, the system uses multi-channel AoIP links for full interconnection across the studio environment.
AEQ Capitol PLUS in the PROMODespí studios
The AEQ Capitol PLUS is a 10-fader digital console with IP architecture. It includes a core of 16 AoIP input channels and 16 output channels under the Dante-AES67 protocol.
The console also offers broad connectivity. It includes four mic or line inputs, 12 analog inputs, four AES/EBU stereo digital inputs, and two USB stereo digital inputs. It also supports two optional telephone lines, optional digital multichannel audio links, and 16 AoIP channels over two Ethernet ports.
AEQ AudioPLUS for production and playout
PROMODespí is also using the AEQ AudioPLUS system for content management. According to the project description, the platform supports both live and recorded production and broadcasting.
This gives learners a workflow that is closer to professional broadcast practice. Therefore, the training environment is designed to reflect the standards used in the industry.
AEQ VisualRPlus for visual radio and streaming
The AEQ VisualRPlus platform adds visual radio functions to the new studios. It can automatically generate audiovisual content linked to traditional radio output by using PTZ cameras.
The system includes a mixer with up to eight NDI-compatible inputs. It also supports unlimited transitions, programmable macros, Picture-in-Picture, DSK, graphic overlays, recording, playout, and a multi-format AV player. As a result, the studios can support streaming and adapt content for different digital platforms.
PROMODespí expands communication training
With the new studios, PROMODespí is strengthening its training capacity in radio, podcasting, and digital production. The project gives students access to a working environment built with professional tools and workflows. In turn, that can help improve skills development and job readiness in media-related fields.
