Amagi said AccuWeather has completed a major upgrade of its broadcast operation as part of an expanded partnership.
The company says AccuWeather has moved from traditional broadcast infrastructure to a cloud-based and internet-driven system. As a result, AccuWeather now manages linear TV and streaming workflows in one environment.
According to Amagi, the new setup removes separate distribution paths. In turn, this makes operations more efficient, more flexible, and easier to scale across platforms.
Amagi and AccuWeather with unified operations
Amagi says the transformation is centered on its Master Control Room in Princeton, New Jersey. The company adds that the project brings both the technology stack and managed operations under one provider.
Because of that, AccuWeather can make channel changes faster and work with a more flexible operating model. Amagi says this also improves day-to-day control across linear and streaming services.

Srinivasan KA, Co-founder and President of Global Business at Amagi, said managed services are central to the engagement. He said Amagi is not only supplying cloud playout technology but also operating, monitoring, and optimizing the broadcast environment. He added that a single technology stack makes customization faster and easier. He also said the Princeton MCR gives AccuWeather both cloud agility and broadcast-grade operational support.
Amagi and AccuWeather after the 2021 FAST launch
The expanded deal builds on earlier work that began in 2021, when AccuWeather launched its FAST channels with Amagi. Now, the company says the relationship has grown into a broader modernization of distribution and operations.
Amagi says the new setup improves distribution efficiency by moving AccuWeather to a fully IP-based delivery model. According to the company, this helps improve reliability and reduce costs.
Amagi and AccuWeather for regional feeds and live updates
Amagi also says the platform supports regionalization at scale. The company points to advanced sub-feed capabilities that help AccuWeather manage multiple regional feeds with tailored graphics.
In addition, Amagi says the system improves speed during live events. This allows teams to deliver breaking news and severe weather updates across platforms more quickly.
The company also says a unified workflow makes it easier to launch new features and improve operations over time.
AccuWeather on the Amagi partnership
Helen Swenson, Chief Content Officer at AccuWeather, said the company needs a modern and scalable distribution system to deliver continuous weather coverage, forecasts, and severe weather updates. She said that is why AccuWeather partnered with Amagi.
She also said that moving linear and OTT distribution onto the Amagi platform simplifies operations and improves efficiency. As a result, she said the AccuWeather team can focus more on content quality and on delivering the forecasts audiences trust.
