DVB Production has upgraded its OB Vehicle 1 by incorporating Calrec’s Argo S audio console and two ImPulse1 cores, making it the first in Europe to utilize Calrec’s reduced-height Argo S.
This integration enhances the vehicle’s audio capabilities through the advantages of IP technology.

Founded in 2007, DVB Production aimed to innovate mobile production in Slovenia and Central Europe. Over the years, the company has collaborated with major broadcasters like Sky Sport Austria, ORF, ARD, and RAI, and maintained strong partnerships with entities such as UEFA and FIFA.
Decision and Implementation Process
According to Daniel Cof, CEO of DVB Production, the company’s commitment to embracing new technologies was key in choosing Calrec. They evaluated various brands for their specific needs and found Calrec to be the best match, citing its full redundancy and the previous positive experience with Calrec’s Brio console in another OB van. This familiarity allowed their sound engineers to quickly adapt to the new Argo console.
The Argo S was specially designed to fit the limited space in OB Vehicle 1 by merging two rows of screens into one. The console provides extensive input/output options, increased DSP power, and seamless integration with DVB’s existing DANTE network and intercom systems. Calrec’s ImPulse1, an IP engine suited for smaller applications, supports all immersive audio configurations and simplifies cabling, significantly reducing the vehicle’s weight.
Successful Deployment and Future Projects
The upgraded OB vehicle was promptly put to use, covering significant events like the UEFA Women’s Champions League match between FC Bayern München and PSG. Following this, DVB Production handled broadcasts for the UEFA Europa League and the Ice Hockey League, among others.
