Atomos has acquired Flanders Scientific, known as FSI, in a move that expands its position in professional video monitoring.
The company says the deal strengthens its monitoring offer across the full production chain, from on-camera work to final color grading and delivery. At NAB 2026, both brands will appear on their own booths, while showing some overlapping products across the two locations.
According to Atomos, the acquisition combines FSI’s experience in color science and reference displays with Atomos’ wider product range, distribution reach, and connected ecosystem. The company says this creates a broader monitoring portfolio for filmmakers, broadcasters, and content creators.
Atomos and Flanders Scientific across the monitoring chain
Atomos says it already covers several production stages with its monitoring products. These include the Shinobi range, the Ninja monitor-recorders, the Sumo line, and the Shogun AV range. The company also says its Studio Pro line will add to its reference monitoring plans later this year.
With FSI now part of the group, Atomos says it can cover monitoring from on-camera and on-set work through live production, postproduction, and final delivery. The company says this gives it a stronger position across the professional video market.
Atomos and Flanders Scientific in the reference market
Atomos says the acquisition gives it immediate access to the highest tier of the monitoring market. The company notes that reference-grade monitoring depends not only on performance, but also on validation and trust across the industry.
According to the announcement, postproduction houses, broadcasters, and major studios already use Flanders Scientific monitors in environments where image accuracy is critical. Atomos says this gives it a portfolio that is already trusted at the top end of the market and also complements its existing product range.
Flanders Scientific brand and operations
Flanders Scientific will continue to operate as a separate brand inside the Atomos group. Atomos says there will be no change to FSI’s product philosophy, engineering approach, or operating standards.
The company adds that customers should expect the same accuracy, consistency, and performance associated with FSI products. At the same time, Atomos says the deal will strengthen support and distribution in markets that were previously harder to reach.
Atomos and Flanders Scientific on future growth
Atomos says the acquisition also supports its broader investment in advanced display technologies and in the Studio Pro line. Together with FSI, the company says it is moving faster toward a complete monitoring ecosystem that covers every stage of production.
Peter Barber, Chief Executive Officer of Atomos, said the Flanders Scientific team has built a reputation for precision and trust in reference monitoring. He said that fits closely with Atomos’ direction and strengthens its commitment to monitoring from on-camera capture to final delivery. He also said Atomos plans to keep the FSI brand, philosophy, and engineering approach unchanged while adding wider organizational support.

Bram Desmet, Chief Executive Officer of Flanders Scientific, said joining Atomos is an important moment for FSI. He said the company was built on the idea that professionals responsible for image fidelity need tools they can trust. He added that the partnership gives FSI more infrastructure and reach to support more customers in more markets, while continuing to serve broadcasters, digital imaging technicians, and colorists.
