Thomas Riedel Acquires ARRI

Thomas Riedel, founder and owner of Riedel Communications and the Riedel Group, has acquired ARRI.

ARRI is the Munich-based manufacturer of camera and lighting technology for motion picture and live entertainment. According to the announcement, Thomas Riedel was selected in a competitive international process. The deal is described as the largest acquisition of his career so far.

The Riedel Group says the acquisition creates a closer strategic connection between ARRI and its own business. The group aims to expand its position across the production chain, from camera optics to distribution. According to the announcement, ARRI’s camera, lighting, and systems portfolio complements the Riedel Group’s existing strengths in audio, video, and data infrastructure.
